Get to Know Us
Dr. Ralph "Randy" Hellams
Physician
Dr. Hellams, a native of Richmond, graduated from J.R. Tucker High School. He received his Bachelor of Science from Hampden-Sydney College in 1982, and he later earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Richmond in 1991.
He attended Eastern Virginia Medical School, graduating in 1995, and completed his Family Practice residency in 1998 through the VCU MCV Blackstone Family Practice program and is a board certified Family Practitioner.
After dedicating several years alongside several well-established and excellent physicians, Dr. Hellams left Primary Health Group, Inc., an HCA group practice, with a dream to establish his own practice. The Family Practice of Manakin-Sabot was opened April 1, 2003.
Concurrent to his solo practice, he joined Adaptive Geriatrics in June of 2014, now known as Legacy Care, and is caring for patients at Louisa Rehabilitation and Healthcare, where he also serves as the Medical Director.

Dr. John P. White, M.D.
Physician
Dr. White is originally from Ashland, VA, but he has lived in Goochland for more than seventeen years with his wife and two daughters.
After graduating from Furman University and the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, he completed his residency through the UVA Roanoke Family Practice program.
Dr. White has practiced medicine for more than 30 years and is board certified in Family Medicine.
Medication Refill Service
We are able to electronically send refills and new medications to your pharmacy of choice. Many of our patients have found this to be very convenient and easy when they need refills on their medications. This also allows for the highest accuracy and a significant reduction in medication errors.
Acute Illness
Our patients are now able to take advantage of our services on Mondays on a walk-in basis. We will get you registered and then you will be seen by our nurse practitioner. We also offer many appointment opportunities throughout the week and you may call ahead to schedule these timeslots.
Routine Check-Up
From annual physicals, routine follow ups, blood pressure, diabetic checks, or medication management, we will be happy to discuss your health and assist you with maintaining a high level of well-being. Call, email, or drop by the office to schedule an appointment and we will be ready to assist you.
Referral Services
Do you need a referral to see a Specialist? Or perhaps your insurance does not require a referral, but you need a recommendation of a Specialist to see. Simply call, email, or visit our physicians in person and we will be happy to meet your needs.
Accepted Insurances
We accept most plans!
We are currently welcoming new patients and accept most insurance plans, with the exception of Optima Health. If you do not have insurance, we will be happy to see you on a self-pay basis. Our office accepts cash, check, and all major credit cards as payment.

From the Southside:
Take Interstate 288 to Patterson Avenue (Route 6), which turns into River Road West. Head west for 1.4 miles and our office will be on your right, across from Luck Stone.
From the West End:
Take Patterson Avenue (Route 6) which turns into River Road West. Our office will be on your right about 1.5 miles past The Richmond Country Club, across from Luck Stone.
